Marinated Calamari Ingredients

  • 500g Squid
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1tbs chopped parsley

    Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Drop Squid into boiling water
  2. Reduce heat, simmer 2 min 
  3. Drain
  4. Combine lemon juice and olive oil
  5. Add squid, add salt and pepper, cover, refrigerate overnight
  6. Next day, add crushed garlic and parsley to marinate
  7. Mix well and leave for 2hrs or longer in marinade.
  8. Serve in the marinade                

Crumbed Calamari Ingredients

  • 1kg Squid
  • 1 Egg
  • 2tbs of milk
  • 2cups packed dry breadcrumbs’
  • Oil for deep frying


  1. Dip squid rings into combined beaten egg and milk
  2. Drain off access then toss in breadcrumbs.
  3. Pat crumbs our firmly with fingers (2 cloves of garlic can be added)
  4. Heat oil in large source pan then drop squid into deep hot oil, small batch at a time
  5. 1-2 min or until golden brown
