Nestled in the heart of the beautiful North Coast of KwaZulu Natal, our Ballito branch was the first to open its doors in November 2005. Originally a small and cosy restaurant seating no more than 80 patrons, this branch has grown drastically over the past nine years. It now boasts seating areas downstairs, upstairs on the deck and outside, and is able to accommodate 250 patrons. Mo-Zam-Bik Ballito is our flagship branch for the KZN Province.
Mo-Zam-Bik does not only cater for the adult generation, but has created a kiddies section downstairs to keep your little ones entertained whilst you sit back and relax. Sip on your cocktail, breathe in the ocean air and know that your children are safe.
Situated upstairs, home to the Amina Dhow, is our outside area where we often have live entertainment such as bands and comedians. This section may also be hired out for private functions and special occasions, so contact us today and let us assist you in creating the perfect Mo-Zam-Bik styled event. Bookings are essential.
Mo-Zam-Bik Ballito became home to the historic Amina - Spirit of Adventure in 2010 when the old dhow was lovingly restored on our premises and incorporated into the restaurant.
The dhow was used by Kingsley Holgate and his crew in the African Rainbow Expedition, with a convoy of Landrovers, to distribute life-saving mosquito nets to villages along the East coast of Africa, as well as educating pregnant women and children about Malaria and the prevention of this dreadful disease.
The exhibition features video footage, images and text from the African Rainbow Expedition, providing the restaurant with a unique one of a kind in South Africa.
Let the spirit of Amina encapsulate you as you enjoy a scrumptious meal on her deck whilst surrounded by memories of her good deed; or enjoy a cocktail as you imagine sailing along the coast to the Somali border, celebrating the kind hearts of all those involved in the expedition.
Mo-Zam-Bik Ballito - in the words of Kingsley Holgate…”a place where adventurers can start and end their journey”.
There is no better place to enjoy mouth-watering seafood than on the African coast. Tender calamari tubes grilled and finished off in our garlic lemon and herb or peri peri sauce, served with your choice of one side.
